YURISA DUARTE

As a first-generation American, I grew up in an artistic family which allowed me to envelope various forms of art media and story-telling from a young age. Surrounded by the indigenous Guatemalan textiles of my culture in my home, I developed a love for bright and bold colors.

I obtained my B.F.A at the Savannah College of Art and Design in Illustration and Sequential Art. Then I obtained my M.F.A at the same school in Animation. My experience in and out of school, on projects and collaborations, has allowed me to gain a varied skill set and adaptable aptitude. I’ve worked on projects by myself such as my short film Evolution? and collaborated on several projects including clean-up animation for Detective Cat and Monarcade.

I’ve been credited as an illustration assistant for the published book; Writers and Their Pets and am a proud creative of Popcorn over at Universal Orlando’s Marketing and Sales team. Where I’ve been allowed to flourish as an artist and utilize both my skills and love for theme parks. Through versatility and creativity my objective is always to support narrative and theming; telling an impacting story, visually.

“One little spark, of inspiration is at the heart, of all creation. Right at the start, of everything that's new, one little spark, lights up for you.”
